Apple Zapple (formerly known as Ricochet) is a wild mouse roller coaster at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia, USA. It was built by Mack Rides and opened in 2002. It is situated in the Candy Apple Grove themed area.

History[edit | edit source]

Ricochet was announced on August 1, 2001. Upon opening, it was the twelfth roller coaster at the park.[1]

On February 2, 2018, Kings Dominion announced that Ricochet would be renamed Apple Zapple for 2018. The color scheme was changed to green track and brown supports.[2] Previously it had yellow track with blue and silver supports.

Design[edit | edit source]

The track layout consists of a large first drop followed by several high hairpin switchbacks. The ride finishes with a couple of smaller drops.
