Cascabel 2.0 is a steel shuttle roller coaster which formerly operated at Kennywood and later at La Feria Chapultepec Magico. The ride is currently in storage at Indiana Beach in Monticello, Indiana, USA and at Niagara Amusement Park and Splash World in Grand Island, New York, USA.

History

The coaster operated as Laser Loop at Kennywood from 1980 to 1990. Its station building was reused for Steel Phantom.[1] It opened in 1994 at La Feria Chapultepec Magico in Mexico as Cascabel. The ride became Cascabel 2.0 in 2014. It closed with the park in 2019.

The train from the ride was spotted at Indiana Beach in 2021.[2]

In February 2022, Niagara Amusement Park and Splash World announced that it had purchased the coaster and stated it would start construction as soon as weather permits.[3]

In May 2024, most of the pieces of Cascabel 2.0 were removed from the storage site of Niagara Amusement Park and Splash World and were shipped to sister park Indiana Beach where they arrived at the park and were placed into storage in the back area of the maintenance shed behind All American Triple Loop.[4] As of summer 2025, some track pieces remain in storage at Niagara Amusement Park and Splash World.[5]
