HELP

City Jet was a steel roller coaster built by German manufacturer Schwarzkopf that was previously located at Gillian's Wonderland Pier in Ocean City, New Jersey, USA.

History

Prior to arriving at Gillian's Wonderland Pier in 1978, this roller coaster operated at Salisbury Beach and Steel Pier.[1] It was purchased new by Steel Pier in 1976.[2][3]

The original Schwarzkopf cars were replaced with new cars from Wieland Schwarzkopf Amusement Rides & Parts Services for the 2004 season. One of the original cars was donated to the National Roller Coaster Museum, with the others used for spare parts.[4]

In December 2004, the park announced that the City Jet had been sold and was in the process of being dismantled. It was sold as part of a deal in which the park received the Runaway Train roller coaster.[5]

City Jet was planned to open in 2006 at All Star Adventures in Kansas. However, this plan fell through and the roller coaster has since been listed for sale.
