Dragon Fire is a steel roller coaster located at Canada's Wonderland in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada.

History[edit | edit source]

Dragon Fire with Leviathan overhead

The roller coaster is one of four which opened with the park in 1981. It was named "Dragon Fyre" until it was changed to its current name for 1996.[1]

Leviathan, opened in 2012, passes over Dragon Fire. At a height of 306 feet, Leviathan's first drop is 228 feet taller than Dragon Fire.

Design[edit | edit source]

Elements

Since the removal of Drachen Fire from Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Dragon Fire is the only Arrow Dynamics coaster in existence to have counter-clockwise turning corkscrews.[1]

Trains[edit | edit source]

2 trains with 7 cars per train. In each car, riders are arranged 2 across in 2 rows for a total of 28 riders per train.

Dragon Fire originally had three trains. For the 1987 season, one was transferred to the newly built Bat[1], a Vekoma Boomerang which uses the same track system as Dragon Fire.
