Ferris wheel lift

The Ferris wheel lift on Round About.

A Ferris wheel lift is a mechanism to elevate a car in a similar motion to a gondola on a Ferris Wheel. The car enters at the bottom of the Ferris wheel where brakes stop the car while the wheel rotates the car to the top. The wheel then stops at the top and releases the car on its way.

The only roller coaster with a ferris wheel lift was Round About (also known as Maximum RPM!) at Freestyle Music Park, which operated for two seasons. It was subsequently dismantled and sent to Vietnam, where it was setup but never operated. It is presumed to have been scrapped.
