Firecracker is a Calypso built by Spanish manufacturer Robles Bouso Atracciones currently located at Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana, USA. The ride is named after the former Firecracker roller coaster that operated at Holiday World from 1981 through 1997.

History

This ride first opened at LeSourdsville Lake Amusement Park in Monroe, Ohio, USA in 1972.[1] The ride closed with the park in 2002 and remained standing but not operating through 2006. It was subsequently moved to Fun Spot Park in Angola, Indiana, USA, where it opened in 2007 and operated until the closure of the park in 2008.[2] It then remained standing but not operating. It was listed for sale in the classified section of amusement industry publication Amusement Today in August 2015, with an asking price of $18,000.[3]

In November 2016, the ride was purchased by Holiday World, who dismantled and refurbished it. The ride's frame was found to be severely rusted and had to be replaced. The Firecracker reopened in 2017.[4]
