History

In August 2016, park director Wouter Dekkers revealed that a new Wild West themed roller coaster named Gold Rush would open in 2017.[1] It replaced the park's Thunder Loop roller coaster, which closed in October 2016. Gold Rush opened on 13 April 2017.[2]

Design

Elements

Gold Rush is a Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster. It is 33 metres tall and reaches a maximum speed of 95 km/h. While the total length of track is 400 metres, the train travels approximately 620 metres per ride cycle due to the forwards and backwards launches.

The theme is based on the California Gold Rush which began in 1848.
