Old Chicago was a shopping complex and indoor amusement park in Bolingbrook, Illinois, USA.

History

Old Chicago opened in 1975.

The amusement park closed in 1980 due to low visitor numbers and its rides were sold off. The rest of the complex closed in 1981. The building was demolished in 1986 as no use could be found. By this time, it had fallen into disrepair and had begun to be soiled by the weather.

Design

Old Chicago was a large square building with a dome in the center. The amusemnet park (called Old Chicago Fairgruonds) was located under the dome with the retail stores located around it. The retail section was designed to look like a street with an 1890s theme.
