Plopsaland De Panne (formerly called Meli-Park) is a theme park in Adinkerke-De Panne, West Flanders, Flemish Region, Belgium. The park is owned by Plopsa. As its name suggests, Plopsaland has many rides and areas themed around Plopsa's characters, such as Wickie the Viking and House of Anubis.

History

The park was first started by the Meli company, who produces honey, in 1935 with the opening of a cafeteria near its packaging facilities. In 1952, a zoo and gardens were built. Meli relocated its manufacturing facilities in 1955, however, the park remained.

It wasn't until the 1970s that amusement rides were added.

In 1999, Studio 100 purchased Meli Park. The sale was completed on October 4.[1] The park reopened with a new theme in April 2000.
