The roller coaster while it was at Alabama Splash Adventure

Recoil is a steel shuttle roller coaster located at Wonderla in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

History

Following the closure of Wonderland Sydney on April 26, 2004, the roller coaster was dismantled and shipped to Visionland (since renamed Alabama Adventure).[1] It was painted on arrival, prior to assembly at Visionland.[2] Following a "Name the Roller Coaster" contest the ride was named "Zoomerang",[3] and it opened on May 8, 2005. In February 2012, Zoomerang was put up for sale.[4] Alabama Adventure had recently been sold to new owners who only opened the water park portion of the property from 2012.[5]

Elements

Colour scheme

Red track and yellow supports. The coaster originally opened with white track and green supports, changing to black track and supports at Wonderland, and yellow track and green supports at Alabama Adventure before settling on its current scheme at Wonderla.

Train

Single train with 7 cars. In each car, riders are arranged 2 across in 2 rows, for a total of 28 riders per train. The original train was manufactured by Arrow Dynamics and had over-the-shoulder harnesses. This was replaced with a new train from Sunkid Heege GmbH in 2018, which has individual lap bars.
