Apple Zapple (formerly Ricochet) is a steel wild mouse roller coaster at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia, USA. The ride was built by Mack Rides and opened on March 23, 2002. It is situated in the Candy Apple Grove themed area.

History

Ricochet was announced on August 1, 2001. Upon its opening on March 23, 2002, it was the twelfth roller coaster at the park.[1]

On February 2, 2018, Kings Dominion announced that Ricochet would be renamed Apple Zapple. The color scheme was changed to green track and brown supports.[2] Previously, it had yellow track with blue and silver supports.

Design

The track layout consists of a large first drop followed by several high hairpin switchbacks. The ride finishes with a couple of smaller drops.

Green track and brown supports. The ride opened with yellow track and silver supports.

10 cars. Riders are arranged 2 across in 2 rows, for a total of 4 riders per car.
