Universal Studios Japan (Japanese: ユニバーサル・スタジオ・ジャパン) is an amusement park in Konohana-ku, Osaka, Japan.

History

The park was closed from 29 February to 7 June 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.[1]

The new themed area Super Nintendo World, based on the Mario franchise, was expected to open on 4 February 2021.[2] However, its opening was pushed back due to government restrictions amid the coronavirus pandemic.[3] It opened on 18 March.[4] The park closed once again due to the pandemic on 24 April.[1]
