On October 9, 2018, Efteling announced that Bob is to be removed in 2019 in order to make way for a new dueling family coaster from Mack Rides opening in 2020. It will be named Max & Moritz and will be themed to the 1865 German story of the same name.
Name[edit | edit source]
The name seems to be inconsistent across the website, the park and signs. "Swiss Bob", "Bob", "Bobslee" or "Bobbaan" can be seen, however just "Bob" is used on the ride's entrance, and thus is the name Coasterpedia uses.
Design[edit | edit source]
The station has an Australian-Alps theme.
The ride is smooth, especially since the original steel wheels were replaced by softer ones in order to comply with the night-opening license. The ride meanders through the trees, and has some nice drops, curves and points where the ride really picks up some speed.
Trains[edit | edit source]
The ride used to have cars with inline seating. These were later sold to Six Flags Over Texas for use on their La Vibora roller coaster and replaced with ones that sat two across. The trains were sold in an attempt to raise the ride's capacity.
