HELP

When it opened in 1995, Dragon Khan broke the record for the most inversions on one ride, with 8. The record was subsequently broken by Colossus at Thorpe Park, which has 10 inversions. It also held the record for the world's tallest vertical loop on opening, although that didn't last long, as it was broken by Mantis at Cedar Point shortly after. Though it doesn't hold the record for most inversions, it still has the most of any Bolliger & Mabillard roller coaster.

The theme for this ride is based on Chinese mythology: the Dragon Khan was the reincarnated spirit of the evil Prince Hu of Beijing. His fury was unleashed each time a human dared to climb atop his back.

History

The trains, on opening, were painted dark green, purple, and dark blue, but they were changed to the current, uniform color scheme when Shambhala was being constructed in 2011 and the ride couldn't operate. During this time, the ride also was repainted, to give back its original, flaming red colour with electric blue supports.[1]
