Flying Carpet

The Flying Carpet (also known as Magic Carpet) is a type of ride in which riders sit facing towards the centre of a rectangular platform attached to the end of one or more vertically-orientated arms. As the arms rotate, the platform where riders sit moves in a circular motion but remains upright. The platform may be supported by one, two, or four arms.

Smaller versions of the Flying Carpet offer a gentler ride. An example is the Crazy Bus from Zamperla.

The Rainbow or Ali Baba has the same motion as the Flying Carpet, but riders face forwards, away from the ride, rather than toward each other. The Miami is another similar ride.
