'''Visual editor''' is an alternative to the source code editor which does not require knowledge of wikitext.
By default, VisualEditor will open when the "edit" link is pressed. "Edit source" opens the source code (wikitext) editor. The VisualEditor is not available on mobile.
Advantages:
*For basic edits, no knowledge of wikitext is required
*Image galleries and references may be quicker to add using the VisualEditor, especially for someone unfamiliar with the syntax
Disadvantages:
*Currently only available on article pages
*Once familiar with wikitext, most editors will find the VisualEditor to be slower, especially when handling tables and templates.
*Unavailable on mobile phones
