Interlocking loops

Loch Ness Monster's interlocking loops

Interlocking loops on Orient Express
Interlocking loops are an element consisting of two vertical loops that cross over each other, making a similar shape to that of links on a chain. Only two complete-circuit roller coasters have ever featured this element: Loch Ness Monster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Orient Express at Worlds of Fun. A third attraction also featured this element: Lightnin' Loops at Six Flags Great Adventure, however it was made up of two separate Launched Loops. With the closing of Lightnin' Loops and Orient Express, Loch Ness Monster is the only remaining roller coaster with interlocking loops. All three rides were built by Arrow Dynamics.
