When the ride opened in 2004, it was themed as a giant pinball machine. This theme was changed when SEGA sponsered the ride in 2010. It was then themed around Sonic The Hedgehog.[1] For 2016, the attraction returned to its former name of Spinball Whizzer after the SEGA contract expired. It also received new theme music for 2016 from IMAScore.
