Viper is a steel roller coaster located at Six Flags Darien Lake in Darien Center, New York, USA. Built by Arrow Dynamics and opened in May 1982, it was the first roller coaster with five inversions and the first major roller coaster at the park.

Design[edit | edit source]

Elements

Viper was originally painted entirely black from opening until 1998. In 1999, the track were painted a lime green color. In 2010 the color scheme was reverted to the original all-black.

The elements of the roller coaster are a chain lift hill, a vertical loop, a double corkscrew, a batwing, an on-ride photo camera and a subterranean tunnel.
