Emerald Coaster was a steel roller coaster previously located at Sam's Fun City in Pensacola, Florida, USA.

The roller coaster was first known to have operated at Harbour Park, where it opened in 1986 and was called Zyklon. In 1999 the ride opened at Ocean Beach Pleasure Park in South Shields. Between 2009 and 2012, the colour of the track was changed from yellow to pink. The coaster was also renamed Cat & Mouse. In 2016, the coaster was closed with the Runaway Train.

The roller coaster was shipped to Sam's Fun City. It was initially planned to reopen for the Christmas season, but was delayed. It opened on March 16, 2018.

Color scheme

Repainted blue for its opening at Sam's Fun City. The ride opened with green track and white supports at Ocean beach. This was later repainted to pink track and white supports at Ocean Beach.

Single cars. Riders are arranged 2 across in 2 rows, for a total of 4 riders per car. The cars use over-the-shoulder harnesses.

In 2009, the final brake failed to bring a car to a halt, causing it to crash into a stationary car in the station. Riders sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.[1]
