Eye In The Sky (previously called Zeppelin) was a converted Observation Tower.

History

The attraction began operation in 1971 under the name Zeppelin and was owned by showman company Rosenzweig. It replaced the former Zeppelin. It was later relocated to Freizeitpark Kirchhorst, where it operated until the closure of the park in 1985.[1] In 1986, it was placed at Ponypark (another Bembom amusement park, now called Attractiepark Slagharen) and the following year it was relocated again, this time to Dreamland Margate, also owned by Bembom.[2] It operated at Dreamland until 1991. After it was taken down, the zeppelins were removed and the ride was converted to an Observation Tower. For some time, the zeppelins were kept in storage at Dreamland. The ride reopened at Pleasurewood Hills under the name Eye In The Sky, where it operated from 1994 to 1998.

Design

The ride consisted of a tower with five large zeppelin-shaped cars connected together. During the ride, the zeppelins would move up the tower while rotating round it. Prior to operating at Pleasurewood Hills, it was converted to a standard Observation Tower.
