HELP

Great Nor'Easter (formerly called Fly the Great Nor'Easter) is a Vekoma Suspended Looping Coaster located at Morey's Piers in Wildwood, New Jersey, USA. It opened to the public on May 26, 1995.[1]

Riders are required to give 8 tickets or have a wristband in order to ride, and must be over 4'4 and under 6'7. Further restrictions are posted at the ride, and loose articles (cell phones, flip flops, etc.) are not permitted. With the installation of the two new trains with vest restraints, the ride contrasts the original two trains, which gave riders a less comfortable experience.

History

For the 2017 season, the roller coaster was overhauled, which included the replacement of 90% of the track.[2] It reopened on May 25, 2017.[3]

Design

Elements

The custom part of the layout is the location of the station, this makes the standard SLC layout a bit more compact. The layout itself is the same as a normal SLC.

Color scheme

In 2006, the track and supports were painted white. Previously, they had been painted in a pinkish-red. During its renovation in 2017, it was repainted again to have white track and teal supports by Baynum Painting.

Trains

2 trains with 10 cars per train. In each car, riders are arranged 2 across in a single row, for a total of 20 riders per train. For 2008, the coaster received a $1.2 million upgrade, which saw new-style "Freedom Seats" cars installed.[4]
