Goudurix is a Vekoma steel roller coaster located at Parc Astérix in Plailly, Picardie, France. It held the joint-record for the most inversions until the opening of Dragon Khan in 1995.

History[edit]

Various modifications have been made to the ride after it opened. In 2000, the train interiors were renovated. In 2007, theming was added to the station. In 2009, the ride was repainted. In February 2013, it was announced that certain areas of the ride are to be retraced in an attempt to smooth the ride.

Design[edit]

Elements

Goudurix features a custom layout, with the track system manufactured by Vekoma. It is one of only two roller coasters with a Butterfly element, the other being Ninja at Six Flags Over Georgia.

Trains[edit]

7 cars per train. In each car, riders are arranged 2 across in 2 rows for a total of 28 riders per train. At some point prior to 2002, the original trains were replaced with new Vekoma trains.

Location[edit]

Goudrix is located at the bottom of the park, facing Tonnerre de Zeus. The Batwing element over-looks the lake.
