Cobra, or Le Cobra, was an Intamin stand-up roller coaster located at La Ronde in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

History

The ride first opened in 1988 at Skara Sommarland as Stand Up. Stand Up was removed in 1994 and relocated to La Ronde in 1995. There, it would be renamed Cobra.

In May 2017, Cobra was removed from La Ronde's website and park map, confirming the ride's permanent closure. It was demolished in March 2018.

Cobra featured a 75 foot tall vertical loop followed by several curves and dips.

Colour scheme

While situated at Skara Sommarland, the track was painted blue. When it first arrived at La Ronde in 1995, the track was painted yellow. It was later repainted green in 2002. The supports were always been painted black.

Trains

2 trains with 6 cars per train. In each car, riders are arranged 4 across in a single row, for a total of 24 riders per train.

Pop Culture

In 1998, Cobra was featured in the family film Barney's Great Adventure.
