Mild Thing was a steel kiddie roller coaster located at Valleyfair in Shakopee, Minnesota, USA.

History

Mild Thing first opened at Valleyfair in 1976. It was relocated from Excelsior Amusement Park, where it was known as Scrambler. It originally operated as the Mine Train but this name was changed some time later to Kiddie Coaster. With the opening of the park's new hyper roller coaster, Wild Thing in 1996, the name was changed to Mild Thing, as play on words.

The ride closed in 2010. The following year a new Snoopy-themed kiddie coaster, Cosmic Coaster relocated from Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, opened in a spot adjacent to where Mild Thing stood previously.

Design

The Mild Thing is an example of the common Little Dipper model manufactured by the Allan Herschell Company, which follows a standard layout with a single chain lift hill and several bunny hills making the oval layout.

Trains

Single train with 3 cars. In each car, riders are arranged 2 across in 2 rows, for a total of 12 riders per train.
