Hyperia is a steel hyper roller coaster currently under construction at Thorpe Park in Cherstey, Surrey, England, UK. It is being built on the site formerly occupied by both Loggers Leap and Rocky Express.[1][2]

History

In July 2023, the first delivery of supports for the ride arrived.[3]

In August 2023, it was announced that whilst also taking the record for being the UK's tallest coaster, it will also take the record for being the fastest.[4]

On 5 October 2023, the park released a computer-generated POV and announced that the new coaster would be called Hyperia.[5]

On 11 October 2023, the first supports and three pieces of track were installed.[6] On 17 October 2023, the first of the white supports were installed.[7]

Design

Plans released by the park suggest the ride will be around 72 metres tall, reach a maximum speed of 128 km/h and feature 2 inversions.[8]
