History[edit | edit source]
This ride was formerly located at M&D's Scotland's Theme Park in Motherwell, Scotland. While at M&D's, the coaster went under the names of Cobra, Express and Space Coaster. The earliest it is known to have existed is 1999, at which point it had blue track. After it left M&D's in 2015, multiple rumours stated that the ride was sold to Oakwood. These rumours were confirmed when the coaster was seen under construction at the park.
On 12 August 2016, the ride was confirmed to be part of a James and the Giant Peach area in Oakwood's summer leaflet. The park later confirmed on their Facebook page that the coaster itself would be named Flight of the Giant Peach. The ride opened on August 1, 2017 and was situated within the new Dahl Land area. Riders passed through the "Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker’s House" walk-through attraction prior to boarding the roller coaster.
For the 2018 season, the theme was removed and the coaster became known as Creepy Crawler.
