HELP

Sturmvogel was a Flying Carpet built by German manufacturer Schwarzkopf that was previously located at Hansa-Park in Sierksdorf, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

Sturmvogel is the German word for a petrel, a type of seabird. The gondola was shaped like a giant bird.[1]

History

The attraction began operation on the German fair circuit with showman Barth in 1981 under the name "Dschunke". It was subsequently refurbished and opened at Hansa-Park[2], where it opened in 1991. It closed after the 2012 season. The park cited a lack of spare parts and regular downtime as reasons for the closure.[3]
