Thunderhawk is a steel inverted roller coaster located at Michigan's Adventure in Muskegon, Michigan, USA. It formerly operated at Geauga Lake from 1998 to 2007.
History
The ride first opened at Geauga Lake on May 9, 1998 under the name Serial Thriller.[1] For the 2004 season, it was renamed Thunderhawk after the park was sold to Cedar Fair. It was repainted orange and yellow for the 2005 season.[2]
On September 21, 2007, Geauga Lake announced that they would no longer operate as a traditional amusement park, and instead become solely a waterpark, Wildwater Kingdom.[3] Less than a month later in October 2007, Michigan's Adventure announced that Thunderhawk would be relocated to its park.[4] In January 2008, vertical construction had already started.[5] Thunderhawk opened on May 17, 2008. The park repainted the supports and track so the ride looked newer and different from its former home.
In 2021, the ride was repainted with chocolate supports. The track was left red from its opening in 2008.
