Anubis: The Ride is a steel roller coaster located at Plopsaland De Panne in West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. It is a launched coaster from German company Gerstlauer which opened in 2009.

It is the largest roller coaster at the park, and the first and only coaster at the park with inversions. Anubis was the fastest roller coaster in Belgium from opening until Pulsar opened at Walibi Belgium in 2016.

Theme[edit | edit source]

The theme of the ride is based on the Het Huis Anubis (House of Anubis) television series owned by Studio 100, who also own the park. In the series, students find a long-hidden treasure in the attic of their boarding school (Het Huis Anubis) and embark on a search for treasure. The station and queue-line are enclosed in a mock-up of the school and the darkened queue passes through scenes relating to the series.

Anubis is the Egyptian God of death.

Design[edit | edit source]

The ride has an LSM launch, which leads into an almost-vertical ascent.

Trains[edit | edit source]

3 cars. Riders are arranged 2 across in 2 rows for a total of 4 riders per car. Riders are held in by over-the-shoulder restraints.
