Dodgems

Dodgems, also known as bumper cars, are a type of family ride popular as both a stationary and a traveling attraction. Riders drive a set of electric cars and gently hit other riders. Alternatively, more cautious riders can opt to avoid getting into any collisions, hence the name dodgems (dodge 'em). The track areas come in many shapes and sizes from rectangular arenas to one-way loops. The most conventional powering system for Dodgem cars sees current passed to both the floor and wire mesh ceiling of the track. The car has a pickup on the bottom and a trolley pole connected to the wire ceiling of the track, thus completing the circuit.
