The Edge is a Miami built by UK manufacturer Nottingham UK currently owned & travelled by UK showman Kerry Kayes.
This Miami was without a name for many years, and was known as PlayStation due to Matt's impressive artwork. The backflash features characters from various games notably Lara Croft of Tomb Raider in the center of the artwork, whilst the paybox displays the distinctive shaped buttons that define this gaming system. The whole work was painted out in 2004 to be replaced by a rave theme.
The Edge was re-themed by Swen in 2004 using the rave cartoon artwork developed for clubs and labels such as Hedkandi, picturing glamorous clubbers dancing and sipping cocktails. This concept worked well since it detracted away from the necessity to get the 'real' faces correctly airbrushed.
In March 2015 after 23 years of ownership with the north east based Murphy family, the ride was sold to the south of the country to the Birmingham based Kayes family and soon changed the paybox previously used on their owned at the time Megaspin ride and the colour of the lap bars on the ride from black to red.
Scott Kayes died in January 2023 and this ride was passed on to Kerry Kayes of the Kayes family.
