Knuthenborg Safaripark is a zoo in Maribo, Sjælland, Denmark. It features a small amusement park area named Limpopoland in the back of the park.

History

The park was originally a farm and estate owned by Niels Sivertsen Grubendal in 1372. The estate was called Aarsmarke at this point. It would eventually end up in the possesion of the Knuth family in 1681, who have owned it ever since.[1] Animals would be added to the estate in 1969, causing people to call the park Lolland. These animals roaming around the 660 ha estate where the main draw of the park for years, but this slowly started to fade. This caused the park to begin adding other offerings, such as Limpopoland with its attractions and a walk past dinosaur animatronics.[2]
