The ride initially opened on April 1, 2000 at California's Great America (then called Paramount's Great America). It was called Stealth. It closed on September 2, 2003 and was removed to make room for a new water park.
It reopened on March 20, 2004 at Carowinds and was called BORG Assimilator. For 2008, the name was changed to Nighthawk.
