Twirling Toadstool was a Waveswinger built by German manufacturer Zierer previously located at Alton Towers in Alton, Staffordshire, England, UK.
History
The ride was built in 1978 and first operated in Germany.[1] In 1984 the attraction opened at Alton Towers under the name Wave Swinger and was located in the Festival Park area.[2] In 1999, when Festival Park became Ug Land, Wave Swinger was repainted and named Ug Swinger. It was moved within Ug Land to accommodate Rita: Queen of Speed, which opened in 2005. For the 2009 season, the ride moved to its current home in Cloud Cuckoo Land and became the Twirling Toadstool.
Twirling Toadstool did not operate during the 2017 season and remained closed in 2018.[3] In early 2019, it was removed from the Alton Towers website.
