Sky Striker is an upcoming frisbee ride located at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, USA. It is expected to open on April 20, 2024 along with the reopening of the rest of the park.[1] It replaced Dare Devil Dive.
History
As of February 20, 2024, the concrete pad for the ride has been installed.[2]
As of April 12, 2024, the ride's parts have arrived on-site.[3]
Design
The ride is a modified Giant Discovery installation from Zamperla, is one of the tallest pendulum rides in the world, and the tallest pendulum ride in the Midwest. The pendulum reaches a maximum height of 172 feet above ground while swinging.
Trivia
- The park's previous pendulum ride, Revolution, was closed in 2023 since Sky Striker basically put it into obsolescence.[4]
