Black Widow was a steel shuttle roller coaster located at Six Flags New England in Agawam, Massachusetts, USA.

History[edit | edit source]

The ride opened in 1977 and was called Loop Coaster. Its name was later changed to Black Widow. In 1999 the ride was closed to make way for Flashback, a Vekoma Boomerang.

It was sent to the former site of Old Indiana Fun-n-Water Park, where Six Flags had planned to build an amusement park. The park was never built and the Black Widow was scrapped in 2002 or 2003 after the land it sat on was sold.

Design[edit | edit source]

The ride was a Launched Loop model from Arrow Dynamics.

Trains[edit | edit source]

Single train with 4 cars. In each car, riders are arranged 2 across in 2 rows for a total of 16 riders per train.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The Black Widow is a highly venomous spider.
