History

There is some discrepancy on when Eagles Flight first opened. Holiday World has cited 1976 in its blog posts, but the ride was referred to as new in a 1977 newspaper article and the 2023 Holiday World & Splashin' Safari 75 Years of America's First Theme Park book.[1][2][3]

The ride received new vehicles for the 2025 season.[4] The tubs reportedly originally operated on Seabreeze Flyers at Seabreeze Amusement Park in Rochester, New York, USA.[5]

Earlier this year we confirmed that these tubs last flew in the salt air of Lake Ontario at Seabreeze Amusement Park. Best we know, they were fabricated by the park in the early 1980s until their removal at the end of 2023. The structure is original and likely dates back to the early 1940s, originally manufactured for one of the many parks of that era in Michigan". Facebook. Flyer Addicts Anonymous. 2025-04-26.
