High Extreme, also stylized as High EXtreme, is a a duo of mat water slides built by USA manufacturer WaterWorld Products located at Raging Waters Los Angeles in San Dimas, California, USA.[1][2]
History
High Extreme opened on May 31, 1997, as the tallest waterslide in California, and the tallest mat water slide.[3]
In June 1998, the slide's mats were replaced with two-person tubes, and renamed to High Extreme II.[4][5]
The mats were returned to use in mid-2007. By that point, the name had also returned to High Extreme.[6]
Baynum Solutions repainted the slide in 2020, with the turns being painted green and purple, this also removed the see-through sections on the left slide.[7]
Design
The slides are 109 feet tall and 600 feet feet long.[8][2]
Both slides are nearly identical mirrors of each other, with the only difference being the left side featured a translucent section to allow people in the wave pool below to view riders on the slide.[3] This feature was removed in 2020.[7]
Color scheme
The flumes are all white except for the turns, where the outside is painted purple on the left slide, and green on the right slide. Both flumes were all white until 2020.[7]
The supports are unpainted, and the slide tower is painted purple, though the paint has faded over time.
