Punga Racers are a set of four ProSlide TWISTER body racer water slides located at Universal Volcano Bay in Orlando, Florida, USA.[1]
History
The slides opened with Volcano Bay on May 25, 2017, as a set of four ProSlide mat water slides.[2]
In November 2017, ProSlide made adjustments to the runouts of the black and yellow slides.[3]
On July 11, 2019, a 47-year-old man was paralyzed on the black slide after his neck was thrust backward in the Runout, this prompted the park to enforce a 150-pound weight limit on the slide.[3][4] It was later revealed that the runout had caused at least 115 injuries between 2017 and 2019.[3]
The slides were closed in early 2020 to replace the runouts with new ones by WhiteWater West, and also be converted into body slides. They reopened in July 2020.[5]
