Original effects all mechanical and analog!

yes, there ended up laser lights and movers and a digitally animated show, but when they designed it in 1976, there were no automated lights. Or digital animation software. They had a trigger track along with the music (analog tape) that would trigger the effects. I remember one where, timed perfectly to cymbal crashes, an image would jump out and get larger. They did that with a moving lens in front of a projector to create the "jumping" into your face look. The Norris family had some great ideas and some real great techs as well! I remember the Subway ride where they had copier scanner/lamp modules (the little scanner with lamp in it) along the walls that chased along with the movement of the car. Brilliant! Any of the old 70s operators on here, would love to have some reminders of some of the tricks!! Pete in Texas (talk) 13:10, 27 May 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
