Thunderbids is a Flying Scooters ride built by US manufacturer Bisch Rocco currently located at Eldridge Park in Elmira, New York, USA. The ride originally operated at Fantasy Farm Amusement Park in Middletown, Ohio, USA and later at Fun Spot Park in Angola, Indiana, USA.[1] It now uses components, including fiberglass tubs, from the Flying Scooters ride that previously operated at LeSourdsville Lake Amusement Park in Middletown, Ohio, USA.
History
Flying Scooters opened at Fantasy Farm in 1972.[2] There is some speculation that it was originally installed at Riverside Park in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA in 1940.[3]
The ride was relocated to Fun Spot Park in the early 1990s.
After the motor and gearbox failed in 2007, the motor, gearbox, and fiberglass tubs from the former Flying Scooters at LeSourdsville Lake Amusement Park were used on this ride.[3] The ride closed with Fun Spot Park in 2008.
In 2012, Eldridge Park acquired the ride from the defunct park.[4]
