Kraken is a Frisbee ride built by Dutch manufacturer KMG owned by American traveling ride operator Iconic Midway Rides.[1]
History
In July 2022, the youngest daughter of Wade Shows president Frank Zaitshik, Marina Zaitshik-Small, and her husband Johan Small, purchased a KMG XXL with a targeted opening of 2024, the couple explained that the ride would travel both as part of the Wade Shows midway, but also to other events looking for a stand-out attraction.[2][3]
The parent company for the ride was later incorporated as Iconic Midway Rides on October 31, 2022.[4]
In February 2024, the ride's name was annouced as Kraken and it began shipping to the US for a debut at the Central Florida Fair, however, due to shipping delays, it missed the event.[1] It later opened on the seventh day of Fiesta San Antonio on April 24, 2024.[5][6]
Design
The stands at 131.2 feet tall and at max swing reaches 147.6 feet high.[7]
