Chairlift is a ropeway located at Jamberoo Action Park in Jamberoo, New South Wales, Australia. It is used to transport guests to the top of the Bobsled ride.[1]
History
In 1963 two chairlifts were constructed by Transfield, the first between village of Thredbo, and a restaurant at the top of Mt Stilwell, then the second from the restaurant down to Charlotte Pass.[2][3] It was opened in 1964 and intermittently operated due to high winds and difficulties rescuing people when the chairlift broke down.[3][4] The chairlift only operated for a year before being dismantled, then it was sold to the Eddy family who stored it until it was reconstructed and reopened in 1980 in Jamberoo.[5][6]
