Eyerly Aircraft Company was an amusement ride manufacturing company in Salem, Oregon, known for their small travelling attractions.

History

In 1930, Eyerly Aircraft Company was founded by Lee Eyerly, where they first created the Acroplane. Initially intended to be a pilot training simulator. However, a salesman approached Lee Eyerly looking to get the ride into amusement parks and fairgrounds.[1][2]

Frank Hrubetz, the chief engineer of Eyerly Aircraft Company, left and founded Frank Hrubetz & Co. in 1939.[3]

In 1985, Eyerly discontinued ride production.

In 1990, the company went bankrupt following financial difficulties, and its assets were sold to Oregon Rides Inc.[4] Oregon Rides was acquired by Battech Enterprises in 2011, which still produces parts and servicing for Eyerly rides.[5]
