Summary

Description

Funland Park

"Sunday market packing up, a bit windy for the beach.

The funfair site was sold soon after this picture was taken and was gradually run down with fewer and fewer rides running.

Demolition of the Rotundas themselves occurred in 2006.

The scenic railway "Runaway Coaster" (built in 1921, the only side friction figure eight coaster left in the UK and one of only two in the world) was destroyed in April 2007 in spite of an agreement made between the developers and a local conservation group who wanted to carefully dismantle and store it in the hope of finding a new site for this piece of fairground heritage."
