L. Ruth Express is a miniature railway built by US manufacturer Chance Rides[1] currently located at Waldameer & Water World in Erie, Pennsylvania, USA. It was named after Lydia Ruth Moeller, the wife of former park owner Alex Moeller. Its track length is "nearly a mile".[2]
It opened in 1972, and its track was designed to be large enough that two engines could operate on it at a time someday. In 2011, its original train was returned to Chance Rides, who replaced it with a new red train, dubbed "L. Ruth Express I". The following year, a second train was added, this time being blue, and dubbed "L. Ruth Express II".[3] The original train has since been sold to a farm in Canada, according to Waldameer. It has a duration of roughly 16 minutes.
