Looping Star is a steel roller coaster located at Rand Show in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.

History

The ride debuted in 1979, when it travelled in Germany and was operated by showman Robrahn. It was called Silber Pfeil.[1] The name is in German and translates to "Silver Arrow".

The roller coaster was later sold and moved to Africa, where it travelled as Looping Star.[2] Since 2012, it has been set up at the Rand Show in South Africa. It was repainted in either 2015 or 2016.

Design

Elements

The ride has a single vertical loop, which also has track passing through the center of it. It finishes with a helix.

Trains

6 cars per train. In each car, riders are arranged 2 across in 2 rows, for a total of 24 riders per train.
