Ron Toomer was an American roller coaster designer, known for his work with Arrow Dynamics roller coasters.
History
May 31, 1930, Ron Toomer was born in Pasadena, California.
In 1966, Ron Toomer's first design, Runaway Mine Train, at Six Flags Over Texas, opened to the public, his first of 93 roller coasters.[1]
In 1975, Corkscrew at Knott's Berry Farm opened to the public, the first modern multi-inverting roller coaster.
In 1989, Magnum XL-200 at Cedar Point opened to the public. The first roller coaster to top 200 feet.
On September 26, 2011, Ron Toomer died in Bedford, Texas, due to complications with cancer.
