Star Plunge is a swimming pool in Thermopolis, Wyoming, USA.

History

In 1975, Wolfgang and Christine Luehne took over the lease for the park from a previous operator. This expired in 2008 but the family continued to operate the pool on short-term agreements. In 2012, it was taken over by their son, Roland.[1]

In 2024, Wyoming State Parks selected Wyoming Hot Springs, LLC, who operate resorts in Nevada, New Mexico, and Wyoming, to take over the swimming pool after Luehne's lease expired at the end of the year. Luehne's company, C&W Enterprises, entered into a legal battle with the state.

On January 1, 2025 the pool was granted a two-week extension. It closed on January 14.[2] The pool remains closed while the legal issues are resolved.[3]
